How long should you go for an oil change using synthetic oil?

Although some synthetic oils (i.e., Mobil 1) claim to be good 7,500/15,000 miles, normally most auto manufacturers recommend you follow their specifications to avoid issues with possible warranty related engine problems. A good rule of thumb is normally to change the oil at least twice a year or every 5,000 miles which ever is first. Synthetic oils have a stronger sheer strength, (especially those that are 100% synthetic) can normally not jell until more than 300 f degrees, and can pour as cold as ---50 f degrees. Always check your oil level frequently at least once every other fill up to insure that your not leaking or loosing oil. However, if your vehicle has a lot of miles, you may not want to change to a synthetic oil as it is very expensive and if the engine is already using oil it can actually get worse with the synthetic oil. Always use the specified grade of oil that is called for and use a high quality oil filter when using synthetic oil. You might if the circumstances are right, even get a 1/2 mile a gallon fuel economy improvement. Hope this helps, a car nut.How long should you go for an oil change using synthetic oil?
I use synthetic oil in my turbo diesel Mercedes,I go for about 6000 miles only because it's a diesel if was a gas engine I would go for 12000miles,I had a Volvo GLT 82 before and I would go 12000 miles on an oil change had 250k engine had never been apart.
There are two considerations: mileage and time. Synthetics are better on both fronts, roughly double the dino oil. Lacking recommendations from the oil manufacturer, go double.
Every 5,000 to 10,000 kilometers
go 4k to 6k depending on the conditions
u should change your oil every 3,000 miles synthetic or other kind of oil
First off what type of Synthetic are you using? I use Royal Purple and with that type you can go up to 7k with a change depending on how hard you drive. You still need to change your filter every 3k. The standard time to change your oil is every 3k miles or every 3 mo. Which ever comes first. You need to check your oil if its really thin and black you need to change the oil. You can also smell the oil and see if its burnt. Hope this helps.
