NO,,NO,,NO,,it,s no true,,you can switch back anytime you want too,,but i wouldn't,t want to,,because synthetic is better all the way around,,it cost more but is worth the extra money,,i been a certified mechanic for 35 yrs,,and in all my time,,i have to say this is the best oil,,that has ever hit the market,i run it in all y service vehicles,,also in all the customer car,s i do,,also put it in all the re-build,s i do,,and have never had one complaint about it,,but yes you can switch back anytime you wish,,it,s just like doing a regular oil change,,but really like i said the benefit,s of having it in there,,out weigh the cost,,i hope this help,s some.Is it true that once you start using synthetic oil in a car you cannot switch back to regular mineral oil?
NO, Not true. U can change it at any time. if you can stay with the Synthetic. Like Moble one.Do it it's worth the money. The only time I would not put Synthetic oil in and engine is one with high miles like over 90K. It may make it leak oil.
You can switch back. It won't hurt anything. The Synthetic oil would be better but it won't hurt to switch back.
No synthetic oil is 100% synthetic, if mobil one was...... seals would be leaking everywhere because the pao shrinks them. Not to mention the additive pack.

Its not recommended to switch to syn after high miles on conventional, because conventional does like to hide leaks. A engine raised up on syn can certainly use conventional.... also the engine raised on synthetic will be pretty much spotless, the one on conventional maybe a little varnished and synthetic oils will start to clean that off.
It would not be advisable to swap back most modern cars use fully or part synthetic oils,If its an old car thats using oil its not going to matter a lot.

I'm not a expert mechanic,but I do know that mineral oil is not a automotive oil.As to your question,I assume you mean that you want to go back to using regular automotive oil in your car after using synthetic oil.You can go back to using regular oil as long as you give the car a complete oil change,including the filter.
I have heard the same thing.. cant remember the exact answer or the reasoning, BUT.. my automotive tech instructor never switched back after he started using it
No, that's not true. You can switch back at any time. The only thing you need to be careful of is not using 100% synthetic oil in a brand new car. You need to give it at least 10,000 miles for the pistons and valves to properly ';seat'; themselves before you use 100% synthetic motor oil. P.S.: You don't use mineral oil in a car engine -- you use petroleum-based oil.
