Is synthetic oil better than regular oil for my car, & what is the expense difference?

I pay about $34 for an oil change right now, what would that jump to..if I decided to get synthetic oil instead, as they kept putting in regular oil%26gt;

I find that my car runs almost twice as good on synthetic oil, literally...than on regular oil, and I don't even know the logic behind that. I can't just be imagining things either.

Anyone have any ideas on the price difference...and if it actually IS better for my car, and might keep it alive longer, etc?Is synthetic oil better than regular oil for my car, %26amp; what is the expense difference?
Synthetic lubricates better because of smaller, rounder molecules, therefore reducing heat and wear on your engine and reducing power lost to friction, also synthetic can go twice as long in between oil changes. Synthetic should not be used in leaking cars as synthetic will cause leaks to speed up, if present

price would jump to 40-50 with filter depending on the brand. Synthetic costs more because it takes more energy to make it and also increases price because consumers are aware of benefits and are willing to pay more for these benefits.

Go for it!Is synthetic oil better than regular oil for my car, %26amp; what is the expense difference?
If you have ever seen the commercials about synthetic oil they r pretty true. Hey Truth in advertising! Synthetics have addatives like teflon that helps oil to stick to parts better and longer that reg oil and dont break down under the heat as quickly as reg oil also some have detergetns that helps clean valves and cylc not really clean just helps and the smoother an engine operates the better it runs. But cost will definatly go up how much depends on where u take it and Brand they use

Kevin
it all depends on what your car was designed for. read the manual for your vehicle. all oil lubricates but under stress and temperature they behave very differently. older cars should always run on conventional oil. but if putting syn oil in your car gives you a warm fuzzy feeling go for it.
