Why is the price of synthetic oil rising with conventional oil?

I understand the price of conventional motor oil rising, but why is synthetic rising with it? Surely the production of synthetic oil is getting cheaper, and it's much more common. Shouldn't it be going down. Shouldn't conventional oil, in theory, be more expensive than synthetic? Is there a little something going on here? Possibly the oil companies are paying off synthetic oil production plants? This doesn't really effect my life in a major way, but I'm a curious person. :PWhy is the price of synthetic oil rising with conventional oil?
In one word ';GREED'; and what else are you going to get?

They have you by the short and curleys, same as BANKS and INSURANCE COMPANIES where the CEO is on a bonus, the bigger the increase in profit the bigger bonus he pockets, why would they want to decrease or stabalise profits? Why is the price of synthetic oil rising with conventional oil?
Most synthetic oil is mostly petroleum based. Therefore most of it not synthetic. Only a small part is synthetic. What is sold as ';Synthetic oil'; in the USA is not permitted in other countries. Pure synthetic oils are extremely expensive.
