Is it ok to us Synthetic Oil in a car that doesn't require you to?

If it is, what are the pros and cons of using it.Is it ok to us Synthetic Oil in a car that doesn't require you to?
Sure, why not? The only thing is, if the car is older, and has high mileage, sometimes bad seals are held oil-tight by gunk, and the synthetic can dissolve that gunk, and then those spots will leak. But if the engine is in good condition, there is no problem with the switch to synthetic. Personally I do not use full synthetic, but I do use a synthetic blend for better winter starting than with regular oil, and my car is 12 years old. I also use 5w-30 year round. Is it ok to us Synthetic Oil in a car that doesn't require you to?
you can use any automotive oil in any car. synthetic, semi synthetic conventional, any brand, any weight you like. make sure you don't overfill or drive underfilled that's all you need to worry about
Synthetic Oil mmmmm good for car lasts longer is man made ... anything that helps keep your car runningh longer is better dont you think cons well it does cost more....
Synthetic oil will show oil leaks up if there are any, it would be better to use the 10w30 if that is what you have been using, Synthetic oil cost more as well. Good Luck and God Bless
Just use regular oil, as the synthetic is thinner, I hear, and it would leak easier if there is any chance of oil leaking through any of an engines areas. Also costs less.
there are no cons to using it,all good on synthetic oil all it will do is help the engine last a lot longer and run a lot better,it will extend the life of any engine, its the best there is right now for any car ,i use Mobil one in mine and i can tell a real difference in the way it does, you wont hurt it by using this, only help it,good luck.
A shift into synthetic oil is not needed if your car is using the regular engine oil. Especially in cars, 5 yrs up, because of the thinness of synthetic oil, the tendency is it can intrude between the piston rings and bores due to their wornout conditon, making the engine use more oil than usual. Though compression and combustion are not affected, exhaust is tainted with burned oil.
DODGE MAN IS RIGHT BUT MOBIL ONE IS A 5,000 MILE OIL . WHAT I USE IS MOBIL ONE EXTENDED OIL ( IT HAS A 15,000 MILE RATING VS. 5,000 MILE ) . EXTENDED IS ABOUT $ 5 MORE PER 5 QUART JUG AT WALMART . IN SUMMER I USE 15 / 40 OR 20 / 50 , BUT IN WINTER I USE 10 / 30 . 15,000 MILE IS LIKE REGULAR OIL CHANGED AT 3,000 MILE INTERVALS -- 5 TIMES , THIS WAY I ONLY CHANGE 2 TIMES A YEAR . MY 94 CONVERSION VAN IS A 3/4 TON WITH A V-8 --- 360 CID F.I. AUTOMATIC W / O.D. AND HAS 199,000 MILES . IT RUNS LIKE NEW %26amp; I PULL A 10 X 5 CARGO TRAILER 10,000 - 15,000 MILES A YEAR WITH IT
It is ok to use sythetic, just don't change back once you put synthetic in.
it want hurt it 1 or 2 times but stay with 10/ 30 oil
