What brand of synthetic oil is best for a 2001 Intrepid with a 2.7 L engine?

I've read all the comments regarding engine failures due to oil sludge for 2.7 L Intrepids. A few connoisseurs advised to use synthetic oil but didn't specify a brand. Does anyone know what kind of oil to use in order to save my engine?

Thanks

You heard correct.

The 2.7l is a sludge maker. It is suggested to use a synthetic oil. synthetic oil costs more, but you get the added protection and can go longer between oil changes, even though i still do mine every 3k.

A lot of people use MOBIL 1 in there 2.7l, with no complaints.

Andrei, you should be careful in switching to a synthetic brand. If the Intrepid has run petroleum based oil in it all these years, a sythetic oil could cause gasket failures throughout the engine's lubrication system. Check with a Chrysler dealer, or stop in at a reputable auto parts store and inquire about oils for high-mileage vehicles, or consider a blend which combines synthetic and petroleum based oils.
synth oil is too costly. regular oil is better and more cost effective. the whole idea with synth oil was regular oil cost too much. now the synth oil costs MORE. when synth oil is much cheaper than arabian crude, I'll buy it.
I prefer Mobil 1 synthetic 10W-30. You can use regular 10W-30, just be sure to change your oil between 2500 to 3000 miles.
I use castrol synthetic blend, and yes you can switch from regular to synthetic btw, it's a myth.
MOBIL 1
Mobil 1 or AMZOIL
