Is synthetic oil completely compatible with conventional oil?

Would it be safe to switch from conventional or blended oil to a 100% synthetic oil in a car with over 100,000 miles on it?Is synthetic oil completely compatible with conventional oil?
yes and with that many miles on the car it will be better for it but it will not leak faster than conventional oil but it will help the engine to run smoother and last longerIs synthetic oil completely compatible with conventional oil?
Any car with over 100K mi should not be using synthetics, unless your car started out using synthetics. Synthetics are so slippery, your car would probably consume/burn the oil, b/c the synthetics would slip past the rings and be used up. Besides, high mileage cars need a little varnish to keep the rings sticky. The ash and sulfur content of convetional oils also contribute to the lubrication.

Using synthetics on a high mileage car is wasteful.
i went to the blend-just in case. and the blend burned cleaner in my really old Blazer. They say you can change to 100% synthetic. I just thought that it would shock my Chevy.
They can be safely mixed.... swapped between the two as well..... don't beleive the BS about not being able to switch back!!...

100,000 miles? Thats nothing to worry about....

Syn may actually clean away false sludge seals and make a leak or two..... but basically after a while the seals get used to the syn.
absolutely yes. It is totaly compatibile. But with over a 100k miles make sure you dont have any leaks because synthetic oil will leak faster than conventional oil. Yes they will leak faster. It has been proven. It will not create leaks but a car with leaks will leak more with synthetic.
Yes you can buy synthetic oil already mixed with regular oil
yes you can go synthetic, no it won't leak faster, in fact it may stop some leaks. However, if you upgrade to a blend or even full synthetic, you cannot go back to conventional oil. some parts will have bonded with the synthetic molecules, and switching bac to conventional oil will cause damage.
Yes, they are totally mixable.
