Which is better - synthetic oil or natural oil?

I've been told that synthetic oil is better for the car engine and can last longer between oil changes. Is that true?Which is better - synthetic oil or natural oil?
Petroleum oils are just fine the additive packages last about 3,000 miles and most manufactures say you can travel 7,500 on an oil change (PLEASE DON'T) If the oil and oil filter is changed out every 3 to 4 thousand miles new air filters when dirty. your motor should outlast the car.

I use 10/30 Mobil 1 motor oil Car came factory filled with 5/30 because of average temperature in Texas. My 6.0 liter 400 hp LS-2 motor uses a cup of oil every 1,000 miles So I have to either replenish add 1 or 2 Qt between oil changes. I never allow any of my motors to run low on oil. I change every 4,000 miles.

Reasons to use $5.50 quart oil #1 you really like your car.#2 synthetic oil takes heat away better almost 15 to 20 degrees in hard driving. #3 better additive package lasts longer between changes. #4 You sometimes forget and drive past your oil change interval.Which is better - synthetic oil or natural oil?
synthetic oil is better compared to natural oil... we ain't cookin' any car in here are we...?

synthetic oil is better because there are additives present in there. these additives help your car to run smoothly and kick your car's maximum performance. compared to natural oil which degrades easily... usually we only use natural oil when there is an emergency, but most of the time s.o. is better...
synthetic oil is the one. they've added chemicals, which may or may not be harmful, but helps to add more features to the oil and helps you car go smoother..........
All good answers, but you all let one thing out, how old is the car.

older cars are better run with natural oils as that is what they were built to run with, newer cars, particularly those with oil fed cam adjustment solonoids must be run on lighter synthetic oils to prevent gumming up.
it depends on what you are runing it in all i can say is ALWAYS cosult the oil manufacturer they will tell you if there oil is suitable. i have 3 cars under 3 years and i run synthetic in all 3 since new the oldest one 3 years and 240'000 km on the clock still runs just as well as the new one i also run lucas heavyduty oil stabiliser in all 3 cars . short answer talk to the manufacturer and the oil manufacturer and Never extend your service intervals the best product and regular service will keep you motors in good condition all my cars have oil and filter every 4500k
Synthetic breaks down slower. So it can be used for a longer period of time before it will allow engine wear.
Pennzoil is a good oil, just use that.
